World Space Week - CSS Ottawa

Space Net Night is a collaboration between the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and the Carleton Mechanical and Aerospace Society (CMAS) and has been sponsored by the ADGA Group.


On behalf of the Space Generation Advisory Council, it is our pleasure to invite you to the inaugural Space Net Night, happening Wed 07 Oct at Carleton University.  This event is occurring during World Space Week (04-10 Oct) and is designed to foster networking in the Ottawa space community at both the student-to-employer level and at the business-to-business level. 


We will start at 6:30 PM in Azrieli Theatre 101 with casual networking as students and professionals arrive.  We will then proceed to one hour of rapid presentations, where local space organizations will have five minutes to present their organization and its area of expertise.  Finally, we will cap off the evening in the campus pub with a social hosted by the Canadian Space Society.

SOAR and CSS Host Calgary World Space Week Event

University of Calgary's Student Organization for Aerospace Research (SOAR) and CSS host a meet and greet on Thursday Oct. 8th at the University of Calgary.  Presentations at the event will feature a range of space related topics including: High Altitude Student Platform (HASP) and CaNoRock project successes, plus presentations by the Canadian Space Society, the Calgary Rocktery Association, and space related researchers at the University of Calgary.

Space Exploration Symposium 2015 in Edmonton

World Space Week in Alberta begins with the Space Exploration Symposium 2015, featuring a keynote lecture on October 5th, by Dr. Stern, providing the latest information from humanity's exploration of the outer reaches of the Solar System.

The Symposium continues Tuesday, October 6th, with talks by University of Alberta students and researchers, and featuring Canadian space industry Keynote speaker, Dr. Christian Sallaberger, President and CEO of Canadensys Aerospace Corporation.

The Symposium is open to the public and reservations for FREE tickets to Dr. Stern's keynote talk can be found here.

World Space Week Winnipeg - Movie Night at Ecole Viscount Alexander

Ecole Viscount Alexander/Pembina Trails School Division, in partnership with the Canadian Space Society - Winnipeg Chapter (CSS-W) will host a space-themed event to commemorate World Space Week 2015 (4 - 10 October).

When: 8 October, 6-9pm

Where: Ecole Viscount Alexander, 810 Waterford Avenue, Winnipeg

Who: Public - we have a capacity for 100 participants; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult

How: Admission is one non-perishable food item per person, which will be donated to local Food Bank

ROM Game Jam: Space Rocks

The ROM, in partnership with the University of Toronto, is opening its doors to game developers for the third (and FINAL) annual ROM Game Jam. During the first weekend of October (Oct 2-4), 100 developers will spend three days inside the ROM creating games that animate its exhibitions. This year's theme? Space Rocks!

YOU can join in the fun! During selected times, the crystal fortress that the developers will be working in will be open to the public. 

Walk on the Moon. Touch space rocks. Play ROM Game Jam video games. ROM scientists will be on hand to answer your questions!

We’ll also have a special presentation on “Space Rocks” open to the public by Dr. Kim Tait, ROM Curator of Minerology and Marianne Mader, ROM Managing Director, Centres for Earth & Space and Fossils & Evolution.
