The Canadian Space Society is Inviting you to Build and Launch a Rocket this September
Build a rocket during the Calgary Mini Maker Faire at Telus Spark on September 6th & 7th, and join our special guests from Make-A-Wish® to launch your rocket at the Sullivan Lake launch event on September 13th.
Calgary Mini Maker Faire Rocket Build Workshop Details (Telus Spark)
Join us at Telus Spark to build a reusable rocket capable of reaching altitudes of approximately 700-800 feet and returning safely to the ground. Led by Calgary Rocketry Association instructors, these workshops are suitable for anyone ages 10+, with adult supervision recommended for those under 12.
We encourage you to build two rockets: one to donate to our special guests from Make-A-Wish®, to decorate and launch at the September 13th launch event, and one to launch yourself. Rocket donations will be met with a CRA Badge, and a photo of your rocket being launched.
Rockets can take 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to build based on age. The workshop fee is $25 per person which includes a rocket kit. You can purchase an additional rocket kit for $20. To attend the workshop you must also purchase a Calgary Mini Maker Faire pass or Telus Spark membership (sold separately via Telus Spark).
