Vice-President

  • The Vice-President, when acting in the capacity of President, shall be the chief executive officer of the Society. He shall preside at all meetings of the Society and of the Board of Directors. He shall have the general and active management of the affairs of the Society. He shall see that all orders and resolutions of the Board of Directors are carried into effect. 
  • The Vice-President shall be the de-facto chapter liaison for those members not served by an established Chapter

Treasurer

  • The Treasurer shall have the custody of the funds and securities of the Society and shall keep full and accurate accounts of all assets, liabilities, receipts and disbursements of the Society in the books belonging to the Society and shall deposit all monies, securities and other valuable effects in the name and to the credit of the Society in such chartered bank or trust company, or, in the case of securities, in such registered dealer in securities as may be designated by the Board of Directors from time to time.
  • He shall disburse the funds of the Society as may be directed by proper authority taking proper vouchers for such disbursements, and shall render to the President and Directors at the regular meeting of the Board of Directors, or whenever they may require it, an accounting of all the transactions and a statement of the financial position, of the Society

Chapters Director

  • Coordination among existing chapters
  • Intermediate chapter issues with national board
  • "Curate" chapter bylaws
  • Ensure free and fair elections among chapters
  • Foster new and potential chapters

Art and Culture Director

  • Support artistic organizations and groups involved in space art projects
  • Facilitate, coordinate and assist in the development of space arts and culture in
  • Canada
  • Provide strategic and technical advice on space arts and culture to local arts and
  • other organizations.
  • Educate the public with respect to space arts and culture matters.

Corporate Relations Officer

  • manages and makes recommendations regarding the CSS Corporate Relations program
  • liaises regularly with current and prospective CSS Corporate Members (CMs)
  • compiles and distributes quarterly CM Newsletter 

Marketing Officer

  • liaises with Chapter Marketing reps (if established)
  • develops and maintains CSS Marketing plan IAW CSS strategy/Board guidance
  • monitors and advises on social media effectiveness
  • provides input to budget for marketing priorities
  • establishes and maintains a means to obtain feedback on marketing events and strategies

Membership Coordinator

  • establishes and maintains a current member list ensuring all necessary information is obtained and protected
  • communicates regularly with the membership for issues regarding renewal, benefits, events, etc
  • works with Chapters to ensure coherent and consistent membership handling (renewal, pins, etc)
  • manages membership information in order to track membership milestones such as 5 year and 10 year members
  • monitors membership and social media numbers to identify trends and works with Marketing on CSS strategies

Webmaster

  • perform regular maintenance on the Joomla server
  • provide technical support to Society staff for web-related problems
  • ability to integrate new functionality into the website with minimum of guidance 

International Relations Officer

  • Serving as initial point of contact (POC) for organisations, industry and agencies outside of Canada
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with organisations, industry and agencies outside of Canada, including conducting regular reviews of any current agreements
  • Helping to facilitate business-to-business and/or technical meetings between CSS members, related Canadian stakeholders and the international community
  • Representing the Canadian Space Society in international organisations of which the CSS is a member (e.g. International Astronautical Federation)
  • Providing consulting and support for Canadian embassies with respect to engaging the Canadian and international space community
  • As desired and when able, providing briefings/presentations on the CSS to international audiences.

Secretary

  • attend CSS Board/Executive meetings (usually on-line via skype)
  • help prepare meeting agenda
  • record meeting minutes and update CSS Action List
  • receive/process general CSS correspondence (normal correspondence and email)
  • manage CSS files in soft and/or hard form

Newsletter Editor

  • compiles, formats, edits and promulgates the weekly CSS Newsletter
  • solicits and receives inputs from CSS Board/Exec/Chap Exec for items to be contained in the Newsletter
  • responds to queries regarding the Newsletter
  • provides guidance and assistance on matters related to newsletter, Summit and other lists involving external contact
