‘Real’ Central = Winnipeg; Central = Ottawa – just thought we should make that REAL clear for everyone!
On 19 Jun, the interim chair for CSS-W (Wayne Ellis) met for a beer with CSS-Ottawa Chair Graham Looney. To be sure, a number of relevant space/chapter topics were brought up: FIFA World Cup, Trump, Victoria vs Winnipeg weather, and the like! We also might have fit in some of the challenges regarding chapter events and attendance, member registration, space education and advocacy (we might have a good idea ‘brewing’ there). One of the things that we would really like to see is more interaction among the chapters, such as ‘Visiting Chapter Events’ – like this one – and leveraging technology to share chapter events across the country. These things are all doable and are just waiting for the right idea or two to get the wheels in motion.
Are you planning to visit Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal? If so, let your Chapter Chair know and he/she can reach out on your behalf to the other chapter to see if a CSS get together could be arranged. It is really easy and, who knows, could be fun!
